We don't need to learn new songs!

Mark and I have been going round and round for weeks now. He says we need "new songs" to "keep the show fresh". I say, we play Classic Rock what the hell does "fresh" have to do with 30 year old tunes we've all heard a million times. 
 

The thing is, we already stay away from the overplayed, overdone, cliché, run-of-the-mill bar-band tunes, and we certainly don't need to add them either! We have a great mix; we play a lot of 70s, 80's, and 90's tunes from all three of the genres that matter; Rock, Pop, and Outlaw Country. Don't mess up a good thing. Besides, it takes a lot of effort to keep pushing pause on the cassette and writing down lyrics.
 

Then, it hit me. Why not put that writing effort into more originals. We don't play enough originals. In fact, out of the 100's of songs we've written over the years I think we've only played two live. We need more originals! That would keep things "fresh", right? I knew you'd agree with me. So, come out to a show and tell Mark to play one of his very own well-crafted, catchy original songs. And, if we're all very lucky, it will inspire him to get to work on adding more.
